Class Policies
- Registration and pre-payment is required to save your spot.
- If you need to withdraw from a class for which you are registered, please give 24 hours notice in order to receive a refund or credit.
- Materials are available at The Bead Gallery at a 15% discount to class participants. Be sure to mention that the purchases you are making are for a class so we can be sure to give you your discount.
- Classes will run if there are two or more people enrolled. If you are the only person enrolled in a class, we will offer the class to you as a private lesson at private lesson rates. If you do not wish to take a private lesson, we will issue you a credit or refund.

Metal & Stone Classes

Classes are divided into #1 classes, which are suitable for any level of beading expertise, including beginner, and #2 classes, which are more suitable for those with some experience. The Bead Gallery staff will be happy to answer any questions you may have about classes.
#1 - Soldered Hammered Ring

Four (4) students maximum
In just two hours, you will learn to saw, bend, file, solder, anneal, pickle, and polish metal as you create a beautiful sterling silver ring. If, after taking the class, you find out that you love metalsmithing, you can then sign up for the cabochon setting class and further embellish your ring. This class is suitable for beginners.

Learn how to create beautiful jewelry components from Precious Metal Clay. PMC contains particles of pure silver, suspended in organic clay. Shape your pieces, then burn off the organic material with a crème brulee torch. The components become pure silver.

#1 - Beginner I Introduction to Softglass Beadmaking

Become familiar with the tools, torches and materials used to make soft glass beads. Participants learn to make basic round and cylinder beads as well as how to embellish them. Techniques covered in this class include applying dots, stripes, and pulling stringers.

#1 - Beaded Hoop Earrings

First, learn how to make a pair of wire hoop earrings of any size. Then, embellish them with wire and beads to create your perfect pair of hoops. This class teaches you how to shape and harden wire as well as how to neatly wrap the wire between each bead, techniques that can be used on a variety of jewelry pieces.

#1 - Drilling a Stone/Tapping a Stone & Attaching a Bail
$30 Materials Extra
Instructor: Jesse
Learn how to use a drill to make a bead out of a stone (or create a bigger hole in an existing bead.) Learn to “tap” (drill part way into) a stone and attach a bail using jeweler’s epoxy. If time permits, students will be able to tap their own stones. Students usually drill at least two stones.
